365 days of love June

It has been a pretty full on couple of months, I am hoping next month to get back to letters and cards.

For June the idea came from an idea I had a while back using the Donna Salazar Carnation creation dies, I always thought that some of the dies looked like daisies and wanted to find a way to create them on a pipe cleaner (which I have and will share at some point)

So that is what I did made a recycled book paper flower and added a heart with a message that says

“Dear Amazing You,

A flower to brighten your day and show you someone cares”

Love a

Friend.

It is Winter in Australia so I thought it was a great Idea

365 Days of Love -May

 photo maylove_zps3f7d2995.jpg

It has been a very full and kind of crazy month last month. With the art competition taking up the majority of my free time and teaching craft classes, as well as life in general.

I honestly thought I would be much further behind on this project however cleaning out my craft drawers I came accross a checkbook filled with ‘love cheques’ of various types and had a great idea what better way to embrace sharing love than by enabling whoever finds these little packages to share them with someone they care about.

So I cut out some pattern papers to wrap around the cheques and created cards with the leftover offcuts.

The cards say ‘Happiness comes through doors you didn’t even know you left open’

Inside each card is some version of this

Dear Amazing You,

It is so easy to take those we love and care about for granted. Please use this ‘love cheque’ to show someone you love that you care about them.

Never forget to take the opportunity to tell those closest to you how much you care.

Aprils 365 Days of Love Gratitude Journals

Gratitude Notebooks photo notebooks_zpsb6002b99.jpg

These are small notebooks that I covered and decorated fairly simply (I did 21 of these in one hit having 5 already done and needing to add a few more to the pile)

They all have some variation of this written inside:

Dear Wonderful You,

Please use this notebook as a gratitude journal by writing 5 things you are grateful for in it everyday.

Love a friend

Bear in mind they are only small notebooks and I only wrote on the first page 🙂

not sure what I am doing for May yet and honestly it may be the end of the month or next month before I get to it but be assured I will.

Febuary/March 365 Days Of Love Project Boxes

Hi All

I am sharing this on both this blog and my musings blog because well it really does fit both.

My project for this year started as 365 Love letters to strangers and has evolved into what I now call 365 days of Love. I did not want to give up on the project for lack of things to write about or to feel pressured to come up with stuff all the time so I have evolved the project to include random acts of art and craft and well to just be whatever I need it to be on the day as such.

So for feb and march I created a wee box of Love, with everything from a Little album, mini paper bag of bath salts to a handmade heart cushion hangy thing.

Anyway here is the finished box:

the box before it was wrapped with a good view of the Heart cushions that were hand cut out, hand sewn and hand stuffed actually the 23 of these took me a rather long time to complete and I am sure between them and the other things I made more than warrent 2 months project time.

the 2″ square boxes I made from scratch:

the 1″ Paper Bags made from one of My fav MFT Dies

The Love albums that I had to fight with my cuttlebug to cut out (both the letters and album are quickutz)

The boxes ready to be wrapped:

and all finished with a Tim Holtz butterfly die cut and a pretty mulberry rosebud

They also include a turkish delight easter egg as its easter, and some have a small turquoise heart bead in them.

It was a lot of work to get these done, when I thought oooh a box of love for valentines day I had no idea it would take me so long to get them done.

I have to say though that I am really happy they are now complete just have to print a little label for them to say what they are about and give them away 🙂

A little bit more love

I really love how this one turned out the quote is one I resonate with and I am still getting the hang of layering with stains and stuff so it is interesting to see how things turn out at times

I have to say no matter how many times I use it I love the swish and flick technique of Tim’s its so handy and can add some pretty funky splatters to your work

another fav is to use distress inks as watercolours like in this postcard of a very sweet fairy scene

sometimes a bit of funky doodling works well. I used American Crafts metallic markers on this and really love how it turned out.

as there are only a couple more postcards I want to share I will add them here 🙂 then onto some simple cards

I love this Kaiser stamp and the gradation of the stains even though its really hard to see in the photo

A Little bit of Love

This year I am undertaking a project it started as 365 days of love letters to strangers but is evolving into something that encompasses everything from letters, cards and postcards (all handmade by me) to small handmade items and other such things.

It is quite exciting to see what I will come up with next for this project think of it like a giant year filled with random acts of kindness. Imagine walking along and finding a letter or small gift from a stranger just for you for no reason other than to let you know you are cared for. 365 Days of Love. I am sharing everything I write on my Heavenly Musings Blog

So it will take a few posts but I really want to share what I have been creating especially as I have really enjoyed the process.

Lets start with some postcards (using tattered angels stamps and various other things and lots of distress and Tim Holtz stuff of course)
This was just me playing and stepping out of my ‘usual’ style a bit

I think this next postcard is on of my favorites. I really love the way the salty ocean stain and Picket fence paint dabber mixed to create the ocean, plus I love blending the stains to create beautiful sunsets its really easy and effective.

Anyone who knows me knows how much I adore my midnight fairy stamps. I totally love how sponging a little pewter stain over 3 different blue stains gives this a more mystical look

 photo ll20_zps47a4a706.jpg

and finally for this post another sunset with something else I am rather addicted to butterflies

A Different sort of Valentines Card

This card was a great challenge from Ann on Jellybean Scrappers. It was to create a card with embossing and metal on it.

 photo annjan.jpg

The most time consuming part other than trying to get the pewter stain into all the nooks and crannys (TIP stain first then emboss) was glittering the crack. Glue Gloss and a bit of patience are required.

Then it was a sizzix heart die cut out of black cs covered in copper tape and a wee quickutz cupid and viola a card 🙂
