About

Hi Everyone

Thanks for taking the time to learn a little more about me.

Let me introduce myself my name is Amanda Christina and I am a crafataholic. I often say craft supplies are my kryptonite. Since I was a small child I have always loved to create, in fact in primary school I could often be found in the art room at lunch time helping in some way or another.

This year marks the 10th anniversary of when I taught myself to make my own artist original bears. I have only ever made two full bears from patterns all the rest are from my own designs. I have dabbled in cottage craft, beading, and various other crafts over the years. The best thing is that everything I have learned I use within both of my main craft passions of bear making and scrapbooking. You will also find me dabbling in small bags, fascinators and hair accessories, as well as other ideas and things I want to try at times.

My bear making and scrapbooking are linked together. I often find skills from one intersecting with the other.

My inspiration comes from many places. It can be a die I see, something I find on sale somewhere or indeed many of the amazing crafty people online.

You will find I do my crafting on a budget and often have to stretch what few craft dollars I have. You will not always find the latest product or me using the most current up to date gadget or gismo. I will however share some of my secrets for stretching my craft dollars and whilst some of them take a little extra time they do save buckets of money :).

Recent years have seen me start to intergrate recycled fabrics into my bears and crafts. Have to say it would be wonderful to get to visit the reverse cycle garbage places in Sydney once in a while. I love the idea of turning stuff that would often go into landfill into art and it is becoming a far more everyday part of my crafting.

I have been lucky enough to be given 2 guest DT spots. One some time ago at Artistic Document, the other Currently With Tattered Inspirations Etsy Store. Also in the past I served as a full DT member for Scrap Yourself Silly. Sadly no longer around but it was wonderful fun and I got to get really crafty with everything from mini cupie dolls to pegs and posacle sticks.

Anyway I have rambled enough for now. I do hope you will enjoy my craft blog.

Lots of Hugs
Amanda
