A Birthday Card

Tiana Card

Forgive the pic I struggle to get good photos with Acetate. This is a card I made for my youngest Nieces Birthday earlier this month.

I used Kaisers Wonderland Acetate hand coloured with Alcohol ink. Add in a home made misted background, and a die cut happy birthday and viola a card is born.

I have to say in all honesty I was not 100% happy with it but as my niece absolutely loved her card I am happy she loved it :).

Tiana’s 10th Birthday Card

I am not sure I have ever admitted this here, but I don’t really see myself as a card maker, sure I make my own cards when the occassion calls for it but I sometimes struggle with ideas or execution.

Anyway the other week I bought some cards to make life easier re card making and because there are some very important birthdays coming up)

I started this card for my Niece by using some Funky Sellotape I had snagged quite some years ago and that has been sitting in my stash ever since. The boarder is Made using 2 different ones ‘Happy Birthday’ and ‘Funky Girls’

I then Stamped the cute little fairy/elf? and watercoloured it using Distress inks mostly picked Raspberry. I was quite pleased with how this quick card turned out and most importantly she loved it. (mistakes and all)

Dr Who + Washi Tape = Tardis Card

Every Dr Who fan knows as a crafter there is very little out there in the way of ready to use Dr Who craft stuff.

Soooooooooooooooooooooo imagine the excitement when Clearsnap posted a blog in conjunction with Viva Las Vegas Stamps and gasp, excitement, woo hoo

there was a TARDIS STAMP!!!!

ok so a blue police box aherm. So we had to have it, My Sister, My friend and talented Scrapper Toni and I all got the Unmounted one so that we could all get it with post for $10.50 each. If we had got it with the cling or block mounted it would have shot the postage up.

I was so excited to get my stamp, also having found out the same day I missed my sisters Fiance’s birthday.

I have also been playing a lot with washi tape.

So of course I sat down and this card was born

The Washi Tape is from Sawyers Place
I also used a dark purple stickles glitter glue
Some Silver Embossing Powder
A fiskers Happy Birthday Stamp

and Distress inks in various blue shades from memory: Stormy Sky, broken china, salty ocean and blue jeans.

As well as a white gel pen.

Other than the Happy Birthday turning out a bit smudged looking I am quite chuffed at how my first use of this stamp turned out.

Kaiser Cards (from Chapter one and Sweet Nothings Pads)

I recently challenged myself to use pretty much only the paper pads and what was in them to create these two cards. Although I couldn’t resist adding the red roses to the Chapter one card for a little pop of colour.

I got the Chapter one Paper Pad when spotlight had them on sale because It is not colours that I would normally use and I knew it would challenge me. I cut the 2nd scalloped strip from a piece of pp in the stack (you can tell which is the hand cut one), This is for a friends birthday.

This card is completely from Kaisers Sweet Nothings paper pad (I love that pad so much a friend sent me an extra one)

It was made as a thank you card for a friend.

It was really hard to not at least ink the edges of things and to add a little of this or that but overall I am really pleased with the results of these cards.
