Oops I did it again (actually WOO HOO I did it again)

I won another Challenge at Jelly Bean Scrappers :D. This one was a colour challenge and I was rather pleased with how this layout turned out considering it is not a colour combo I would normally use.

Excuse the white patches where the faces were they were removed as per the request of my Sister.

Guest DT Spot number 2:Masculine Cards

I have to say my kit challenged me. For many reasons one being that I mostly do pretty girly things. Though I do love to stretch my creative boundaries.

On occassion I will find a project to do in a masculine way just because I want the practice at not doing ‘Pretty’ as such.

What I loved about this kit is that it also still had flowers and lace in it.

Yeah I know that was my reaction as well. I totally forgot to take a pic of the kit as I received it. Here are the cards I created (click on the first pic and it will take you to the kit on etsy)

All I added to this kit was: Brilliance Coffee Bean Ink, Versamark Watermark Ink, Ranger Antiquities Frosted Crystal embossing powder and Distress Mustard Seed Embossing Powder, Enjoy the Journey Stamps, Buzz and Bloom Pretty things (either one and two or two and three I can never remember which of the 3 sets of I have), Some hero arts back of card sentiment stamps, washi tape and some Kraft CS.

So without Further Ado “It’s a Mans World” Card Kit

I really love how well the lace worked on the first two cards. I know it is not usual to use lace or flowers on mens stuff but I wanted to show it can be done .

and last but not least a card with a twist: One part comes off and is actually a bookmark

and thats it for guest DT spot number 2 I really enjoyed the challenge and whilst it did make me scratch my head a little and wonder what on earth I was going to do for it. Once I started to play the Ideas flowed and you can see the results.

12 Tags of 2012 August!

Wow how time is flying in the midst of being surrounded by black, spiderwebs, swings and dusty concord watercoloured cardstock I saw this months amazing tag.

My mind started to tick into overdrive and so amidst the Dusk/Halloween themed baby shower invites this months Coaster was born.

I don’t have a lot of the stuff Tim used, but did get the Royal Roses Dynamics Die this week and some time ago get one of the Texture fades sets with a frame add into this an Inkadinkado Frames stamp set, a little imagination by using a cameo ( a few years ago packs of cameos were going cheap at spotlight I snagged quite a few pre the cameo craze).

No tattered florals here either so I kept this very simple. Used black embossing powder on the frame, embossed around it and followed the other instructions even used Kraft Core for my flowers.

Add in some inked Girls Papierie word Stickers that I inked so they fit the theme and viola this months coaster is finished (I am so excited as I can see the project I have in mind totally comming together can not wait to have 12 of these)

anyway enough rambling here is my Coaster (remember less room on a 4″x4″ coaster)

Day 7 card 2

YAY all caught up (well sort of). So many techniques with flower stamps, I really do not have that many flower stamps and could not find the stamp I super wanted to use. However sometimes that can be a good thing. I found a set of Buzz and Bloom clear stamps that to be honest I was on the fence about. They were in my stash but I was not sure I was going to keep them. We ell they are most certainly staying in my stash.

I stamped the image in a chalk ink (one colour the green) then I stamped the images again on some cardstock and fussy cut them out. Stamped in a brilliance ink. I really love how sweet this card turned out and will be using this stamp set more often.

Here is the Card:

Day 4 Card 1

Now you will notice for the most part I have been aiming for two cards a day from the Stretch Your Stamps Classes. This is because there is a multitude of techniques and ideas in each class and I honestly just do not have the time to do them all. So figured I would pick two that I had Ideas for and Run with them.

This was a technique where you double emboss . I used Die Cut flowers, and then stamped the gold flower over the top after I embossed them.

Stretch Your Stamps

I am so behind on this class at present though I have made a card from each of day one and day two’s myriad of techniques.

Here is my first Card (this was sent to a friend who is expecting)

Photobucket

I used Clearly Wordsworth Baby Stamps
Stampendous Floral Background Stamps
Rhinestones both from my stash and Kaiser
Cut and Dry Foam (I dont have the felt but it is on my wishlist I can see why the felt is far better for a rainbow technique)
M Press Heart Die
Distress Re-Inkers in Various Colours
Picked Raspberry Ink Pad
KnCo Best of Brenda Walton Paper Pad
CS From Stash

Pearl Embossing Powder ( mine has always created flecks of white and I quite like the effect)

I will be dedicating my weekend to catching up on as many of the techniques as I can as it has the added benefit of building up a nice stash of cards.

Pretty In Pink My first Guest DT Spot for Tattered Inspirations.

I have held back a little on Announcing the news of my Guest DT spot for Tattered Inspirations etsy store because I wanted you to be as excited as I am.

The store is full of wonderful Kits, and bits and pieces of vintage inspired items perfect for all your crafting needs. Especially when you want not only value for money but also something just a little bit different.

Tattered Inspirations Blog and Card Kit

I was lucky enough to receive two kits the Pretty in Pink Card Making Kit, and Pretty in Pink Hat Pins. Here is what was in my Kit including the wonderful wrapping that makes every parcel from Tattered Inspirations feel like the best kind of Present.

The Kit:Photobucket

The only things I added to the Kit to make my cards were: Victorian Velvet Distress Ink Pad, Ink Blending tool, Pink Cardstock, Papers from the Kaiser Bonjour Range, Home Made Mist, and rub on’s.

The best thing is the kits come with 3 cards and all you need to make 3 complete cards with enough spare to make one or two more. When you look at buying cards from a newsagent the kinds of cards you can create from the kits not only work out to be very economical but also are works of art.

The kits are so easy to work with that even if your not a natural Card Maker you will find it fun to just play and before you know it you will have 3 finished cards.

The first card I did started with the Paper Doily a great tip is to Mist your Doily  on top of your envelope it gives your envelope a really pretty finish and also means you waste less mist that way.

Here is the Card and Envelope and the card on it’s own it is very much about the layers.

The next card is a sweet little girly card that I have decided to give my Niece for Her birthday this month (I hope she will forgive its lack of hot pink and like it anyway)

and the last card is very much just about playing with the kit pieces and some pattern paper.

I do so hope you will go check out the etsy store as it really is a wonderful treasure trove.

And that’s all there is there isn’t anymore
