So as most of my friends know I have been industriously working on a Design Team entry for the last couple of weeks.
I love the products and range of the person whose DT it is even if their stuff is darn hard to get down under so I spent last year squirrilling away what I could and asking for some as Christmas Presents (sadly did not get)
anyway this layout I like but it felt like I was trying to hard to make it something it wasn’t it just did not flow. I think at some point I will go back and outline the chipboard letters just to make them pop a little more.
This is a photo of my youngest niece Tiana giving me a makeover on Christmas a couple of years ago.
I really like the flowers down the bottom they turned out cute and I do like the layout it just feels a little flat. As I said I was forcing it and trying to hard. Something I know from experience rarely works for me. I need to flow with my work and just play. The best of us forget this sometimes.
You know it is great fun looking back through my photobucket and seeing some of the stuff I have created. Think I will have to do this at a later date for my bears. So here are some more layouts to share with you all.
This first layout is my eldest nice, the photos were ones I took just mucking around. Not everyones taste but I have always loved this as its so different and simple and for me at least it has impact.
For me this was not only a very special moment but a very structured layout with quite a lot on the page. I tend to favour very clean simple looking layouts, well I call them deceptively simple because often they have a lot of hidden work in them it is just not always obvious until you break the page down. This page was done about 4 years ago
This is a layout I created as a challenge when I was guest DT for Artistic Document. What I love about this layout is the fact that I threw caution to the wind and tore up a photograph, It remains one of my favs not just because it is a great shot of me. But because it is also so different.
This next layout was also for my Guest DT spot at Artistic Document the theme of the Cyber Crop at the time Was Reuse Repurpose and recycle
This layout has a wax cheese wrapper melted and stamped into then pear ex’d over. And recyced butchers paper the kind that always comes wrapped around anything you buy from the Deli
This layout is one where I used Basic Grey Two scoops stamps and made my own background I really love this Page as it is so busy and yet still has a simpleness about it.
Trying not to overload each post with to many pics so off to start part 3 🙂 Thanks for sharing this journey into my scrapbooking Vault With me.
You know it has been a lot of fun looking back this past week. I can see how far I have come as a scrapbooker, some pages still make me smile because I know how extremely little stash I had to create with and marvel at how well I did. Others make me cringe a little with embarassment like many scrappers when we look back and think I would have done this or that differently.
This first layout is a 6×6 one of my Mother and one of her Brothers my Uncle Bob. I Made this for her 60th birthday album so 5 years ago.
The next is a page that I made using Rachael Grieg Paper with pics from Florriade. For non Aussies it is a huge flower festival that is on each spring in Canberra and if your ever in Australia it is well worth the effort to visit. You can see that this was when I was first starting out as the page is sparse on embelishments and such.
This next layout is a little bit of my bearmaking and the process involved. This really was when my stash was very new and I was addicted to Dimensional Magic.
This is a friend of an ex’s wedding. I really love the elegance of this layout and just how the simple smaller pics at the bottom form a boarder with graphics tape.
and for something a little different a surfboard shaped layout I did of my Nieces at the beach. I love the pearlex and marker technique that is used to highlight the butterfies on the paper it takes a little time and patience to do. This was done for a scrapbooking memories masters entry some years ago.
