Recently I participated in Two swaps (though was lucky enough to get the same partner for both which was a great blessing to my budget),
The theme for both was Shabby Chic, one was a card box filled with 5 cards in set themes. The other was a box swap (I tried everywhere to find a box the right size but just could not find one so I added in another small box and a small tag album to make up for the size as well as a few extra goodies for my swap partner)
So now that they have arrived I can share the pics with you all.
Here is the card box and cards:
and here is the two boxes and matching mini Tag Album
I of course had to gold leaf a little, and one of the cards is also on Jellybean Scrappers for a monthly Inspiration Challenge.
Just a few more to share with you all and then it is on to new adventures 🙂
Something a little yellow and sunshiney. My Doodle geenies always get a workout even now I still use them as they make great sewing and bling templates and have limitless possibilities on layouts and cards.
I love puppy Noel as I had a lot of pics that were full of empty bits of space or stuff that I did not really want to use so cut them into shapes for this one (perhaps it should have gone in the Christmas post but I must have missed it. A technique I really love is to colour chipboard or wooden embellishments, add some embossing powder heat it and then press stamping foil over the top for a sort of vintagy old worn look with a bit of added sparkle.
My Favourite Teacher was created for a step by step. I wanted to show how easy it can be to deconstruct a piece of patterned paper with a bit of fussy cutting while still allowing for whoever did the step by step to add their own touches and extra embelishments and such.
and lastly not a perfect layout by any means but a bit of fun 🙂 me as a pirate
You know I am really having fun looking back I can see so much I love about things I have created. How much I have grown and in revisiting the past some techniques I should really start using again.
The first layout is me as a little girl. I hand coloured the dress using Zig Writers. And sort of smudging them before it dried. It gave a great mottled effect. Not to fussed on the side embellishments for this one. It was another 6×6 page for my Mothers 60th birthday pressie. (the only non christmas layout in this set)
The next is one I really love because it is just so unique thanks to the large chipboard Ornament. It was also the first time I got to play with Coredinations I love that stuff 🙂
This next one I really love as the photos’s look like presents I have been told a few times it would make a great sketch for a challenge. For me I love just how christmassy it is
and Lastly Meet Elf one of my Original Artist Bears. The holographic tape is tape that is sold for wrapping Christmas presents with however I bought some specifically to use in scrapbooking in the after Christmas Sales.
You know it has been a lot of fun looking back this past week. I can see how far I have come as a scrapbooker, some pages still make me smile because I know how extremely little stash I had to create with and marvel at how well I did. Others make me cringe a little with embarassment like many scrappers when we look back and think I would have done this or that differently.
This first layout is a 6×6 one of my Mother and one of her Brothers my Uncle Bob. I Made this for her 60th birthday album so 5 years ago.
The next is a page that I made using Rachael Grieg Paper with pics from Florriade. For non Aussies it is a huge flower festival that is on each spring in Canberra and if your ever in Australia it is well worth the effort to visit. You can see that this was when I was first starting out as the page is sparse on embelishments and such.
This next layout is a little bit of my bearmaking and the process involved. This really was when my stash was very new and I was addicted to Dimensional Magic.
This is a friend of an ex’s wedding. I really love the elegance of this layout and just how the simple smaller pics at the bottom form a boarder with graphics tape.
and for something a little different a surfboard shaped layout I did of my Nieces at the beach. I love the pearlex and marker technique that is used to highlight the butterfies on the paper it takes a little time and patience to do. This was done for a scrapbooking memories masters entry some years ago.
This next mini album was made at the start of 2010 and was a huge leap out of my comfort zone in terms of colour and style. I Believe I made this for the Kaiser DT call that year. I can certainly see how my photography has also improved a lot since then.
A Kaiser MDF Album with Kaiser Paper, and other assorted things and one of my all time most used set of stamps MSE Friendship quotes.
and last but not least a chipboard Mini Album I created last year after a break up. I am really proud of how this turned out even if it wasn’t the happiest of endings. Sometimes scrapping can be a form of therapy. There is a lot of pockets and such to add print outs of messages and such. Funny though I have yet to add them to the album. I may one day but then again maybe I wont shrugs.
And thats all for the walk down mini album memory lane 🙂
